Kristin Engh Førde is the new director of Kilden genderresearch.no
Kilden's new director has a background as a researcher and journalist and comes from a position as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oslo.
"I am very pleased to have Kristin Engh Førde on the team. She has long and solid experience from both research and research communication and dissemination. She also has a background as an editor and journalist," says Benedicte Løseth, Executive Director for Research System and Internationalization at the Research Council of Norway, where Kilden is one of five departments.
"In Kristin Engh Førde we get a committed, listening and involving director. She already knows Kilden well and will contribute to a positive development of Kilden's social mission in close cooperation with Kilden's employees and Kilden's advisory council. I look forward to good cooperation and to welcoming her to the Research Council and to the management group in the Area of Research System and Internationalization.
Kristin Engh Førde completed her PhD in medical anthropology at the University of Oslo in 2017. In her thesis, she interviewed Scandinavian expectant parents of children born to surrogacy and surrogate mothers from India. She also has experience as a researcher at the Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies, where she has researched local prevention work against radicalisation and violent extremism, especially administered by the police.

Kristin Engh Førde has previously worked for Kilden as a science journalist, and has experience as a journalist from the Norwegian newspaper Klassekampen. She started her job as director of Kilden on 1 February 2024.
